Braided Rugs
Braided rugs are made by means of knot knitting technique on woolen rugs. World famous persian and turkish braided rugs were produced in this method and differed by knot knitting technique. A rug is considered as a braided rug, if the yarn is inserted to its fabric basis by means of knot knitting, and such a rug has nap.
The knot, interwoven in such a way, must completely bend, at least, one thread of a basis. Braided rugs are made with various methods of braiding and, accordingly, different titles of knots: persian, turkish, tibetan, barber, spanish. Weavers wage depends on produced braided rug square.
The day time productivity of weaving is determined more or less by design complexity, delicacy of pattern and stuff of braided rugs. Usually it makes approximately from 7.000 up to 10.000 knots for a working day, but can be sometimes much more or much less. Nowadays, the braided rugs are exclusive on the background of machine-made products.
