Needlepoint rugs are produced in two steps: first, it is necessary to make a textile base, second, the embroidery is applied to this base. The needlepoint rugs idea is the pattern is performed according to the design, pondered in advance. This design is indicated with a special thread (canvas), which is stretched across the rug.
It allows to fix the favorite picture. The embroidery of needlepoint rugs is realized with a wool yarn, which is drawn along the canvas and simple lines turn into bombastic pattern. The canvas may be removed from needlepoint rugs afterwards. That is why needlepoint rugs are valued – because due to intricate patterns they can be made only manually.
Various designs of needlepoint rugs suppose they are unique. Needlepoint rugs are used mostly for decoration than for practice goals because of the gentle structure of their wool projected embroidery.
